Looking and feeling your absolute best can have a positive impact on your mental, physical, and emotional health. It all starts with eating well, managing your stress, getting enough sleep, and ensuring you have a meaningful and rewarding personal and professional life.
Today we are going to share with you, how to make life beautiful – how to make life more meaningful. We are going to share ways, advice, and practical tips for taking a holistic approach to total-being care.
Eat Right
While fad diets are all the rage and promise quick weight loss fixes, they’re not really sustainable over the long run and can make you feel lousy while you’re in the middle of them.
Your best bet is to go with a well-balanced diet of whole foods including lean meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and water as your primary beverage.
Keep healthy snacks on hand at work and at school so you aren’t tempted by fast food.
Shop local health food stores and farmers’ markets, and watch online tutorials to learn new recipes.
Meal prep as a family can be a great bonding activity that reinforces healthy eating practices.
Get Moving
If you feel like you just don’t have enough time to exercise, eliminate the term from your vocabulary and instead, think of different ways to incorporate physical activity into your life.
Dancing with your kids, playing volleyball in the backyard, going for a swim, or even doing jumping jacks in your kitchen are viable ways to get your heart rate up.
Try to build in some sort of regular activity a few times a week. According to Best Health, you can also work extra movement into each day by walking your dog, biking to work, parking far away from your office or stores to get in extra steps, and climbing the stairs instead of riding the elevator.
Reduce Your Stress
While we all face some degree of stress, managing it appropriately will give you more control over your own health and well-being and make stressors easier to handle.
The success of stress reduction techniques varies from one person to another, but you might try yoga, meditation, tai chi, or relaxation breathing techniques. Listen to soothing music, drink a cup of chamomile tea, sit by yourself in nature, or get a massage.
Make sure you’re getting adequate sleep as well. If you’re sleep-deprived, you’re more likely to be susceptible to stress and anxiety.
Avoid screens before bed and sleep in a cool dark room to make sure you get the slumber you need.
If you’re a light sleeper, use a white noise machine or earplugs to tune out ambient sounds.
Take Up a Hobby
For busy people, sometimes a hobby seems like it’s a frivolous activity. However, according to Kaiser Permanente, hobbies teach your brain to work in new and different ways, can help you create a healthy work-life balance, and are proven to reduce stress.
They can also elevate your mood, especially when a hobby has a social context. Consider a painting or craft class at a local community center, learn to sculpt or make stained glass windows at an art studio, or take up the art of French cuisine!
Even if you do something solitary, like knitting, gardening, or hiking, you’ll allow yourself to be in a different frame of mind.
You can start your own Blog. If you have any passion, interest, knowledge or skill, you can share with your readers on your blog and earn money online from home.
Splurge on Occasion
Sometimes a great new outfit, a trendy hairstyle, or a change of scenery can help you relax, rejuvenate, and refresh yourself from head-to-toe.
Plan an occasional trip to the spa or salon, or spend a little extra on a vibrant lipstick shade or a great-smelling cologne.
Treating yourself once in a while makes you feel pampered, and gives some variety to life.
Even if you’re on a budget, day trips and short weekend getaways should be worked into the mix, as should the occasional fancy restaurant meal.
Even buying a beautiful scented candle or a lovely cup to enjoy your morning coffee can be feel-good moves.
Start Volunteering
Volunteering is a wonderful activity in that you help others while feeling good about your own efforts, knowing your contribution is supporting an important social structure in your community.
Consider donating your time to a food bank or an animal shelter.
Read to children in at-risk school districts, deliver meals to the home-bound, or clean up a park that needs a little extra TLC.
You can find volunteer opportunities via organizations like Volunteer Match, or make up your own!
If you have kids, nieces, or nephews, their schools, clubs, and sports leagues likely need adult support as well, and your involvement can be a great way to stay connected and involved in children’s lives.
Embrace Spirituality
Whether you’re a devoutly religious person who goes to organized services every week, or someone who feels at peace communing with nature on occasion, finding ways to create inner tranquility can give greater meaning to life.
Consider creating a gratitude journal, where you regularly take stock of everything that’s right in your world.
Try to limit your time on social media and news channels, and instead, read something that allows you to explore positivity in a new way.
Expanding your horizons and disconnecting from the barrage of everyday “noise” can do wonders for your sense of wellbeing!
Enjoy Your Work
If you have work-related stress or you’re feeling unchallenged and unfulfilled in your current position, you may want to think about a new career path.
Consider going back to school and getting your master’s degree. Online learning allows you to work at your own pace while still holding down a job and taking care of family and other personal obligations.
Look for schools that are accredited, offer competitive tuition rates, and have a degree program you’re interested in.
Online offerings span the range from criminal justice and psychology to nursing, IT, business, and more.
Living our best lives takes some work, but putting forth the effort can bring about meaning and a sense of purpose.
Make holistic self-care a personal and family priority wherever you can.

Hello HFB. It’s encouraging to see so many people writing about sensible steps we can take to make our lives more meaningful. As the structures in our civilization which have put barriers around our perception begin to crumble, people are going to need to learn to make meaning in their lives independently of the institutions which so many depend on for it.
From personal experience, loving God is the most powerful shift anyone can make to find meaning. Being in a right relationship with the Creator is the surest way to make meaning in our lives. I write this as an ex-atheist.
Great blog post with great wisdom.
Hi Erick, Loving God is the most powerful shift anyone can make to find the true meaning of life. God is all – powerful, loving and merciful. We need to find out what our responsibilities are and how to fulfill those responsibilities in our life.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog and taking the time to share your thoughts on this blog post. Much appreciated.
These are each great ideas for someone who truly wants to live their best life. Each of them is fairly complex and a lot of time could be spent diving into each one! One of the ways that I take care of a couple of these is by having pets to tend to. They help to reduce stress and multiple walks a day mean that there is always a reason to get outside and get moving!
Hi Aly, I agree with you people with pets typically have lower heart rates and blood pressure than those without because owning a pet can help you get more active and their company provides you stress relief as well.
Thanks for visiting my blog and taking the time to comment on this blog post. Much appreciated.
I LOVE your website. This post was fabulous. I especially enjoyed the video. I always wonder how people find just the perfect video to include in their post. So how did you locate it?
I like the way you broke up the text into bite sized amounts. Very easy to read. Love the circular images. They were more attention grabbing because they were unexpected. We usually see square or round pictures, so round ones shouted, “Notice me!”.
You listed so many possibilities for each point you made. You must have a VERY active imagination, which researchers say is a sign of intelligence. 🙂
I’ve bookmarked your site so I can return and read more of your posts.
You have quite a few affiliate ads, but they are tastefully done and you don’t have so many that they make the site look cluttered. I have visited a few sites where I felt like I was pushing through a jungle to attempt to find the text I went there for. You also very properly gave notice that there were affiliate links.
Hi Lilly Land, thanks for your positive feedback for my website. I really appreciate it.
I will try to answer all your questions. Your first question was, how to find the perfect video to include in a blog post. You can get videos on any topic on video platforms such as YouTube, Vimeo and Dailymotion etc.
